A robot vacuum cleaner is called a vacuum cleaner with artificial intelligence. Such a device is intended for cleaning apartments or offices in automatic mode.
The robot vacuum cleaner can be programmed in such a way that it will clean the room in accordance with a certain schedule or following the commands of the owner. In the process of cleaning, the robot vacuum cleaner is able to independently move around the surface of the apartment, cleaning it of debris. If an obstacle is encountered in the path of the robot, then the robot vacuum cleaner is able to independently make the necessary decision on how to overcome the obstacle. The adoption of such decisions is carried out on the basis of algorithms embedded in its memory. At the end of cleaning, the robot returns to its charger on its own.
Since the 2000s, a number of companies have been involved in the production of robotic vacuum cleaners. One of the leaders in this technology today is IRobot with its irobot scooba robot vacuum cleaner. All such devices are mostly made in the form of a disk with a diameter of 28-38 cm and a height of 8 to 15 cm. A special contact sensor is installed on the front of the robot, allowing it to navigate in space.
The first two generations of robotic vacuum cleaners needed to manually specify the size of the room. Three buttons were placed on the case, indicating the corresponding size of the room. With the advent of third-generation robots, such an indication is no longer necessary. The robot itself determines the size of the room and perfectly orients itself in it.
Robotic vacuum cleaners use rechargeable batteries as power. Therefore, it must be regularly charged in a special module. On average, the robot spends three hours on charging.
