Is it necessary to process walls from the beam in one way or another, in particular, glued? Some argue that you can do without it, since a house made of glued laminated timber, the price of which is more affordable than a brick version, is magnificent in itself, while others insist on the need for processing. They especially insist on grinding glued laminated timber. Of course, sanding is not the easiest process, but it’s worth it, because the house will take on a more spectacular look.
Grinding is done before painting and using a grinder with adjustable speed, skins of varying degrees of hardness and grain size, primer, antiseptic and varnish. Respirators or other protective equipment are also needed.
It is better to entrust this difficult process to professionals who know perfectly well when and what skin to use, which grinder to use, etc.d. You can grind even large surfaces on your own, especially if you have certain skills. However, it is important to remember that you should not use or use the grinder very carefully, as it can scratch the surface of the timber and ruin its appearance.
Grinding speed also plays a role, as does the accuracy of movements. This is especially true for houses decorated with various decorative elements. In addition, it will require special experience and attention, which require more time and skill. The same applies to corners and hard-to-reach places.
Since grinding of any timber, including glued, is necessarily accompanied by the release of dust and small chips, you should only work in a respirator or a protective mask. Do not forget about safety when working with a grinder.
When grinding is completed, the walls are primed, coated with an antiseptic and varnished.
