Houses made of glued beams are quite common in the suburban market. According to ADD, the share of houses made of glued laminated timber in the market of wooden housing construction is approximately 20%.
Building a house from glued laminated timber is a fairly quick and uncomplicated process. The house sets themselves are made from glued laminated timber at the factory. The house is assembled directly on the site, where the foundation is preliminarily poured. After laying the foundation, the formwork is installed, and then the laying of the waterproofing begins. The next step is the actual assembly of the house, the installation of the roof, windows, doors, interior decoration (wiring of communications, decorative finishes) and exterior (wood protection and spot sealing).
Buildings from glued laminated timber are built on a turn-key basis in different ways. Production time depends on the complexity of the project and the area of the house. For example, a house up to 120 sq. m can be assembled in a month, provided that the foundation is ready. It is possible to build such houses all year round, since glued laminated timber is resistant to environmental influences.
