Sanding (or scraping) of parquet is the alignment of parquet planks in height. It should be noted that polishing also removes mastic, paint and varnish from old floor surfaces.
Processing is carried out by specialized grinding machines. Today, two concepts: parquet sanding and scraping mean the same thing.In grinders, the working material is a specialized abrasive material, that is, special sandpaper with different grain sizes.
At the 1st stage of processing, a grinder with coarse-grained abrasives is used, and then machines with fine and medium grains are already used. It should be noted that between the change of the abrasive material, it is necessary to seal cracks and various defects using a specialized putty for parquet, but here it should be borne in mind that if you process an old parquet floor, then it is not necessary to seal the cracks, because such floors are usually movable, and putty in such floors will not hold at all. Even if you varnish the smeared putty into the moving floor, it will gradually paint over.
Absolutely each abrasive performs strictly its function:
– Coarse-grained smooths out various height differences between the planks;
– Medium-grained removes traces of coarse abrasive and removes a small layer of putty;
– Fine-grained removes media from medium abrasive and polishes the surface to some extent.
